Run Build button in `Re-Run build` dialog disabled sometimes.

Answered

Sometimes when I go to re-run a build, where I want to use the exact same dependencies, same branch on the current build step but different parameters the dialog has the `Run Build` button to kick things off disabled.

I assume this is teamcity trying to be smart in thinking nothing changed? Anyway I can make this always be enabled? Having to start a completely new build and re-setting the parameters is error prone.

Hi Tamar,

we have located some instances where that button can be needlessly disabled, but as of now our replication steps included builds on the default branch being disabled, and the run build would be reenabled after selecting another branch, closing the dialog and reopening it (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/TW-64558)

If you could check exactly which steps you take to replicate this issue, we would try to check it on our end and see why it happens.

About your comment, I cannot currently say why, but it would be strange that it's preventing the run due to no changes, as we are aware of use cases with dependencies on third party systems.

hmm It doesn't happen consistently which is the problem. The described scenario does sound familiar though. The project this happened in had builds in the default branch disabled and it's only allowing builds in certain filtered branches.

The other difference is that I wasn't triggering a new build but rather just re-running a build that finished.  Because of the filtering there's no default branch you can switch back and forth to.

But it happens so randomly that I can't discern a pattern..
