Publish Artifacts and REALLY REALLY slow

Hello,

We are an TC enterprise customers , we have lots of projects running in TC 2017.1.5 however when it comes to publishing artifacts TeamCity is becoming a bottleneck , I was wondering if there is someone who could help, we really need help fast as my mgmt has been talking about abandoning Teamcity, any help would be HIGHLY appreciated

. We have a build scripts that in General Settings collects artifacts in a zip file , we dont use server side checkout because we have agents for each of out application, on an average artifacts weigh around 1.4 GB.

I really do not want out teamcity enterprise to be abandoned.

Hi, sorry for the delay.

TeamCity doesn't introduce any caps on publishing speed. We would need more data to investigate, how long it's taking, where the agents are, whether it happens on every agent , etc.

Also server-side checkout should have nothing to do with the artifacts publishing speed.

Hi there,

I'm also experiencing slow publishing of artifacts in comparison to just uploading them to the same server. As part of one build we have 11 zip files about 5-6MB each. These upload to our deployment feed in 10 seconds, but team city takes 2m:26s to upload the same files in the [Publishing artifacts] Publishing 11 files using [WebPublisher]: Drops/*.zip step.

Is there anything we can look into to try and debug why the Team City agent is so much slower? We're using TeamCity 2019.2.2 (build 71923)

Thanks.

Hi Jeremy,

are you still facing this issue? We have had experiences where old java releases would produce slow downloads. Recently another user reported that upgrading from a relatively old java 8 release to a recent java 11 seemingly removed the delays. We just use regular java calls, so as long as the network infrastructure is not interfering there shouldn't be any difference to regular transfers.
