Help with implementing plugin to manually define the build number

Hi guys,

could you please provide me some help with creating a plugin to manually define the build number. The idea is: everytime I hit the "Run"-button of a build configuration either a popup shows up or I will be redirected to a new page that contains a textbox I can enter the build number.

I know, that the feature is included in version 4.0, but since it's not a stable version I cannot use it.

I could successfully create a plugin to set the build number, but I could need some help with linking the "Run" button with the new page for example
